Evening,

I'm currently at home packing my bag for my trip to Prague. I have been the centre of a social whirl for the last few days, which is why there was only one post this weekend. I went to the gym for the first time in my life today in an effort to halt my physical decline. It was hilarious! I was shown round the facilities by a very nice young lady called Isabel who kindly lied and said she didn't think I was fat when we were discussing my reasons for joining. My favourite bit was the sauna which was full of men, who looked very disappointed when I walked in. I know it's wrong to stereotype and judge people by appearance, but I think the only woman who would get a warm welcome in a sauna from them would be Judy Garland.

On to more alarming news I have discovered that two of my future in-laws have made their debut porn film appearance. Mercifully they were only there as fully clothed extras and were paid in beer. That should make for interesting small talk at the wedding. 'I believe you're in the building trade, although I hear you've appeared in a film'. The mind boggles.

I have discovered a very fine website called Hidden Glasgow. As the name suggests it's all about the hidden and obscure corners of Glasgow. I have registered on their website and hope to get involved with some of their projects. Whilst I have no objection to the regeneration of Glasgow, most of it seems to be turning the city into a characterless desert of soulless shopping malls and 'luxury' flats, so it's reassuring to see that people still feel genuine affection for the interesting, intriguing bits of the city.

Right I'm off to finish packing.
